iX Cameras announces distribution partnership with NAC

May 27th, 2015

President Peter Carellas places the ceremonial iX Cameras plaque on the NAC Japan wall of fame.
iX Cameras Ltd. (Rochford, UK) is pleased to announce that NAC Image Technology Inc. (Tokyo, Japan) is now the exclusive distribution partner for all iX Cameras products in Japan, including the new state-of-the-art i-SPEED 7 series high-speed high-resolution cameras. This significant new partnership was announced at the JSAE (Society of Automotive Engineers in Japan) Annual Spring Congress in Yokohama, Japan. (Read more)

Jonathan Hatton, iX Cameras' Director of Business Development comments, "I am absolutely delighted to announce the expansion of our sales network with the addition of NAC as our exclusive distribution partner in Japan. They have the experience and infrastructure to allow us to hit the ground running."

NAC has evolved since the 1950s from a service/repair/trading business to developing its own camera product line starting in the 1990s. While the world knows NAC for their high-speed cameras, in Japan NAC is recognized as a trading company for broadcast cameras and high-speed imaging. They are exclusive distributors for camera companies including ARRI, Schneider, Angeniux, Motion Analysis, and many others. Given NAC's specialization in automotive applications, the new i-SPEED 7 Series cameras are the perfect addition to the resurgent Japanese automotive R&D market as well as the high-end academic sector.

NAC President Seiji Nakajima, NAC Managing Director and CFO Kunio Torizuka, and iX Cameras President Peter Carellas celebrate upon signing the distribution agreement.

iX Cameras President Peter Carellas explains, "While it may seem that NAC and iX Cameras are unusual strategic bedfellows, both parties are quite pleased with the concept of collaboration in the Japanese market. Selling cameras in Japan requires specialized, highly trained staff as can be found at NAC. The markets for iX's i-SPEED cameras and NAC's HX cameras are complementary. This provides NAC with a broader, more versatile product line to sell to their Japanese customers – one that reaches from the top of the technical pyramid to the smallest footprint cameras to specialized application cameras. And it allows iX to enter the Japanese market immediately at full speed."
